Hillsboro Aug 22 - John Hallett, age 65 died Thursday morning at 8 o'clock at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was operated on two weeks ago for a hip infection; and immediate death was caused by a blood clot in his heart. He was born Dec 10, 1876 near Deers Mill, the son of Elijah and Rebecca Newkirk Hallet. He was married to Linnie Clodfelter Nov 24, 1897 at her mother's home. Mr. Hallett was a member of the Phanuel Lutheran Church, near Wallace. He was a member of the Church council and was Church treasuer at the time of his death. He was a former trustee of Jackson Township and director of the telephone company at Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linnie Clodfelter Hallett, one daughter, Mrs. Everett Clore of Hillsboro, one son, Clifford Hallet of Waveland and three brothers, Elijah and Charles of Waynetown and Alva of Alamo and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lutheran Church near Wallace, with Rev. J. Wilson Horner in charge. Burial will be made in Lutheran Cemetery. -- typed by kbz

Professor Hallett's Father passes Away Death came suddenly to Mr. Hallett, father of Clifford Hallett principal of our local High School. Mr. Hallett was born at Deer's Mill Dec 1876 from which he moved to the environs of Wallace where he spent the reaminder of his life as an honored citizen and church man. He was treasurer of the Wallace Lutheran Church at the time of his death, which occurred at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following an operation. He at one time served as Trustee of Jackson Township. There remain his wife Mrs. Linnie Hallett, his daughter, Mrs. Everett Clore and a son Clifford of Waveland and two grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Monday afternoon from the Wallace Lutheran Church by the pastor the Rev. J. Wilson Harner. Those attending the funeral of Mr. Hallett were Mrs. Evans; Mrs. Glascock; Mrs. Grimes; Miss Virginia Moore; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Patton; Joe Patton; Don Patton; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robison; Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Deere and Mrs. George Cowan. -- typed by kbz
